Cleaning Tips For Your Home Decor Rugs

Home decor rugs are attractive additions to your house but can be very expensive and delicate. Rugs need special care to ensure long life, hence it is important to know how to clean and preserve them so as to protect your investment and be healthy and hygienic as well. There are few common mistakes that people make when it comes to cleaning area rugs which may cause them to deteriorate the quality and life of the rugs. To avoid this, here are some useful tips to keep your home decor rugs looking as new as possible.

Vacuuming is the basic and primary step in caring for your rug. Rectangular Street Rug are exposed to nonstop abuse, such as treading feet, dirt, dust, oil and spills of all sorts. By vacuuming every day, you can prevent soils from building up. But if you can’t vacuum every single day, aim for at least twice a week to get rid of the dirt and dust. Vacuums with good suction are recommended to lift surface dirt.

Make sure to clean up spills and stains as soon as they occur so they do not stick in the fabric become permanent. Blot or scrape spillage up using clean dry towels, warm water and a cleaning substance. Do this by pressing down very hard from the outside towards the middle. A mixture of vinegar and water is also suggested for a quick and easy fix of stains.

It is recommended to rotate your rugs at least once a year. This means turning the rug end for end or 180 degrees so that the rug will wear more evenly. You may also want to rearrange your furniture to change traffic pattern.

Rugs and carpets eventually get dirty. You can get a professional area rug cleaner to do the job for best possible results.

You can place a mat or a brush type shoe scrapper if you have space at your front door to save a lot of soil from your rug. Inside the door place a mat that can be used to wipe the shoes again and a place to put boots or shoes if your guests think enough of your area to remove their shoes.

You are so right: carpet, curtains and rug are extremely hard to keep clean. Being mom of 5-years old little girl who likes drawing:), I can totally confirm that. That's why I really appreciate all of the tips stated above! Big Thanks!
